Who Devoted Health is

Devoted Health is a private insurance company that offers Medicare Advantage plans. A Medicare Advantage plan takes the place of Original Medicare for your hospital and medical care, and most include drug coverage too. You keep paying your Part B premium, and you keep your Medicare rights.

Devoted has grown fast. For 2027 it is offering plans in more states and counties than before, so many people in the Kansas City area are seeing the name for the first time this fall.

Where Devoted offers plans around Kansas City

For the 2027 plan year, Devoted offers Medicare Advantage plans across a large part of western and northern Missouri. That includes the Kansas City counties of Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass, plus nearby counties like Ray, Lafayette, Johnson (Missouri), Bates and Clinton.

Plans are offered by county, and the choices can be different on the Kansas side of State Line. If you live in Johnson or Wyandotte County, Kansas, ask us what is available at your address.

What to check before you choose a Devoted plan

  • Your doctors and hospital. Devoted plans use a network. Check that your doctors, specialists and preferred hospital are in it for 2027, not just this year.
  • Your medicines. Check that each drug is on the plan's list and what tier it is on.
  • Prior authorization. Ask which services need approval first, especially if you have planned surgery or ongoing treatment.
  • Your total costs. Look past the monthly premium. Copays, the yearly out-of-pocket limit and drug costs matter more for most people.
  • Star rating. Medicare rates every plan from 1 to 5 stars. You can see the rating on Medicare.gov, or ask us.

Devoted vs other plans

No single company is best for everyone. A Devoted plan may fit well if your doctors are in its network and the costs work for your medicines. Another plan may fit better if your hospital is not in Devoted's network or you travel a lot. If you want to keep any doctor who takes Medicare, a Medicare Supplement may be the better path.

We compare Devoted side by side with the other plans we offer, starting with your doctors. Then we tell you plainly which one fits, even if the answer is to keep what you have.

Is your current plan ending?

Some companies are leaving parts of the Kansas City area for 2027. If you got a letter saying your plan is ending, you have a special window to choose a new one. See what to do if your plan is ending.
