Question 1 of 3
Your starting point
Start with a Medicare Supplement, Plan G or Plan N
You want to keep any doctor who takes Medicare and know your bills ahead of time. That is what a Medicare Supplement does, and the 6 months after your Part B starts is the main time no company can turn you down or charge more for your health. A few other situations, like a plan leaving your area, also give you that right. Compare Plan G and Plan N first, and get your sign-up dates on the calendar.
Compare Medicare Advantage plans, starting with your doctors
Low monthly cost, or dental, vision and hearing built in, usually points to a Medicare Advantage plan. The catch is the network, so we check your doctors and hospital first, then compare the plans we offer in your ZIP code. Also get your sign-up dates on the calendar so no penalty sneaks up.
Check whether you can wait, before you do anything
If your employer has 20 or more workers, you can usually stay on that plan and sign up for Medicare later with no penalty. Fewer than 20, and Medicare may need to be your main coverage at 65. Get that answer first. It decides everything else, including Part D and HSA contributions.
Missouri lets you shop your Supplement every year
You are in Missouri and want to keep doctor freedom. Around your plan anniversary, Missouri lets you move to the same plan letter with another company, with no health questions. If your rate has gone up, that is the window to use. Set a reminder and we compare before it opens.
In Kansas, timing and health questions matter more
Kansas does not have the Missouri anniversary rule, so changing a Supplement usually means health questions. That is not a no, it just means we check before you apply and never cancel what you have first. Part D and any Advantage change still happen each fall, October 15 to December 7.
Do a fall plan check, doctors and medicines first
Plans change every January: networks, drug lists, dental and hearing extras. The yearly window to switch is October 15 to December 7. Bring your doctor list and your medicines and we compare the plans we offer against what you have now. If nothing better turns up, you keep what you have.
This quiz does not decide anything. It points to a starting place. We compare the plans we offer for your doctors, medicines and budget, and nothing changes unless you want it to.
Want the numbers for your ZIP code? Send your name and number. A licensed local agent runs the comparison across the plans we offer and goes over it with you by phone. Free, no pressure.
