Lee's Summit Medicare Advantage Networks 2027

By Cole Insure. Reviewed by a licensed Cole Insure agent. October 27, 2026, updated October 27, 2026.

The short answer

Lee’s Summit Medicare Advantage networks are changing for 2027 if you have Aetna. Saint Luke’s says that starting January 1, 2027, its physicians and providers will be out of network for the Aetna Medicare Advantage plan. That is Saint Luke’s statement as of October 2026.

Open Enrollment ends December 7, so now is the time to check your plan.

What is changing in Lee’s Summit Medicare Advantage networks for 2027?

Saint Luke’s East Hospital is a 238-bed hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Saint Luke’s names it, along with Saint Luke’s Hospital, Saint Luke’s North and Saint Luke’s South, on its 2027 Medicare Advantage page.

Here is what Saint Luke’s says (as of October 2026):

  • Saint Luke’s doctors, other providers and facilities will all be out of network for Aetna Medicare Advantage plans.
  • In most cases, this means higher out-of-pocket costs and/or different coverage rules.
  • Some patients in active treatment may qualify for a continuity of care period, and some services only Saint Luke’s offers in the region may be covered with Aetna’s approval. You have to ask the plan.

For current prices, see Medicare costs this year.

Who is affected by this change?

You are affected if you have the Advantage plan named above and use Saint Luke’s East or a Saint Luke’s doctor.

You are not affected in the same way if you have Original Medicare. Saint Luke’s says it stays in network with Original Medicare. Medicare Supplement plans do not use networks, so they are not affected.

Saint Luke’s also says Supplement holders are not affected, because Supplements are not Medicare Advantage plans.

Some people hear a different story. Saint Luke’s says its physicians, other providers and facilities will all be out of network for Aetna Medicare Advantage plans. If someone tells you otherwise, ask for it in writing.

What about Lee’s Summit Medical Center?

Lee’s Summit Medical Center is run by HCA Midwest Health. It is at 2100 SE Blue Pkwy in Lee’s Summit.

We will not list which plans it takes, because that can change. The hospital’s own insurance page says the list changes often and asks you to verify that each hospital and doctor accepts your plan before your visit.

The hospital’s phone number is 816-282-5000. Your doctor may have a different network status than the hospital, so check both.

How do I check my plan?

Take these steps this week:

  1. Find your Annual Notice of Change letter. Medicare says plans send this notice in September. It lists changes in costs and coverage for next year.
  2. Make a short list. Write down your doctors, your hospital and your pharmacy.
  3. Call your plan. Ask how to find out if your providers are in the network, and what you pay in and out of network.
  4. Call your doctor’s office. Medicare suggests checking with your provider that they are in your plan’s network when you make an appointment.
  5. Use Medicare.gov. You can compare Medicare Advantage and drug plans in your area at Medicare.gov/plan-compare.

Networks can shift. Your plan can change its network at any time, but it must protect you from interruptions in medical care. If you think a change puts your health at risk, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

What if I want to change plans?

Open Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, and changes take effect January 1. You can switch Advantage plans or go back to Original Medicare. Read more about enrollment periods.

If you miss that window, there is one more chance. If you are in an Advantage plan, you can make one change from January 1 to March 31. But that change starts the first of the month after the plan gets your request. That can leave a gap in January.

If you leave Advantage for Original Medicare, you may want a Supplement. Some companies ask health questions, and rules differ in Missouri vs Kansas. Learn how Medicare Supplements work, or compare with Medicare Advantage.
